25 Weeks 1 Day

Time is flying I can't believe it is already 25 weeks 1 day volunteering at the greatest place to adopt a pet at Humane Society Silicon Valley, Milpitas. I went through all training from Dog Volunteer 101 to 501 classes. I had a chance to meet awesome people that are driven by the same cause to find our animals new families and to help them have normal life during time in the Bubble.

Definitely I need a new pair of shoes...

My shoes wear off during walks with Bubble Dogs at HSSV
...to walk under California's questioning sky.

Chata and Nellie Bubble Girls

It was hot day today 96F. At the noon plastic grass at the dog park was almost at the melting point. Chata didn’t complain about hot, hot, hot weather and melting grass, she enjoyed playing with the water and later on walking on Yosemite Dr. I think she is a female version of Rocket. She loves the water way he does.

Chata got adopted, she is out of the Bubble.

Nellie didn’t want to play with toys today she was consistent to go into water and cooling down her paws. She is such a cuttie pie.

Rocket vs. Tunnel (Success is getting what you want)

Rocket gained confidence to walk through a tunnel and get his soccer ball.
HSSV's Rocket

Yes!  He repeated it couple of times. His victorious run with soccer ball in his jaws was bliss to my eyes.

Hilo Dog Walker Assistant

Hilo is another dog in our Bubble. He is the best Dog Walker Assistant you can dream about.  Our little, cute and hairy Dog Walker Assistant assist Dog Walker or Diamond Dog Volunteer in her/his day-to-day duties, supervise employees and report … wait a second I think we went too far in Hilo’s job description.

Rocket vs. Tunnel

HSSV's Rocket with his Tunnel Phobia
We had so much fun at the dog park. Today again Rocket tried to walk through a tunnel to get his soccer ball. Grrrr…. Nothing worked cheese, beef liver and calling Rocket from another side and even barking at the ball J that was Rocket's part.

Maybe next time we can do it :)

Yogi 6192 Hours and Still Counting

Yesterday when I walked Yogi two ladies stopped us and made a comment what a good dog he is and how outstanding his manners are. They said “Hey he is a lucky dog we see him everyday walking”. This is how people get impression about our bubble dogs. Yogi is a long time resident, he has been available for adoption since December 31, 2010 (New Year Eve).
Let me convert it to:
8 month and 15 days,
or 258 days,
or 22,291,200 seconds,
or 371,520 minutes,
or 6192 hours,
or 36 weeks (rounded down).
Is he a lucky dog? Hope he will get adopted soon :) He is waiting for the right person with his great manners.

Gorgous, Playfull and Peacefull - Max, Rocket and Yogi

HSSV's Rocket

HSSV's Yogi at a tag-a-war game
Rocket and Yogi are long time residents at Human Society Sillicon Valley. They make me come here every day to play with them, go for a walk or teach them how to be a good dog citizen. They must be very specials dogs. I believe they will find new homes soon. Rocket is a fast learner and I think sooner or later he will get a job at the front desk if he will not get adopted before ;)
HSSV's Max
Max got my attention when I saw him sitting in the chair. He is only pit bull mix (90lb) doing it at our shelter. Maybe next time I will try to take his picture sitting there. So far I got cute version of Max.

Finally I took his picture couple of days later

Rocket Puzzled Dog

HSSV's Rocket
Today morning, after having coffee and lemon cake with my friends at Coffee Society, I was chopping treats into squares: leftover cooked sushi, “kaszanka” – Polish bloody sausage, cheese, Natural Balance sausage, and ribs. 15 minutes of chopping to bribe my precious dogs. OK! Not to bribe maybe to help them become better citizens, because they are already good. When I entered HSSV it was so quiet, no one was barking, it was like entering a different world. I walked by dog’s suites and got a couple dozen eyes glued to mine. Different shapes, colors, but the same message “Hey we know you! Can we go for a walk? Can we play in “Water Park”? Can we play” tag-a-war”? What surprise do you have in your pockets? Pick me!”
I picked up Rocket. Rocket is a very fun and smart dog being around. We enter a dog park and the first thing he showed me was the water hose. I asked him “Do you really want to play with the water?” He showed me where to turn the water on. I wish I could have couple of more arms so that I can take pictures of Rocket playing with the water. He makes me laugh very hard with his flying jumps, wrinkles on his face, rolling his eyes like a teenager. It is a big pleasure just to watch his body language. Too bad you can’t see it, maybe next time when I will get extra arms.
We walked on Yosemite Drive during lunch time, so Rocket had a chance to meet lots of adults. The best of all was group of guys playing hokey with sticks and BALL in the parking lot. Rocket was very interested in the BALL and sticks, but he was very patient when I asked him to sit. So we were watching the BALL together .

Milton - Angel in the Dog Skin

Milton is out of the Bubble

HSSV's Milton

Today is another day with Dogs in the Bubble. Part of my day I shared with Milton a one-year-old pit bull mix puppy. One hour with a very gentle and happy dog, pleased to spend time with me, walk and jog nicely at my side. It is our “Happy Hour”.
Doesn't matter from where these dogs came, what life they had before. They are here in the bubble waiting for new homes, new families, new mommy or new daddy, amazing animals.
During this waiting time they give us precious moments of joy and happiness.

Rocket -The Clown Dog

Weather in California is always perfect. Today Rocket and I had a
fun time playing with a liquid toy. Rocket is the biggest fan of water, he can jump over, under, swirl and twirl, chase, be chased, and fly ;). Can you imagine it? That will be easy...

Rocket likes Science especially Toy's Anatomy.

Yogi X-Ray Vision Dog

HSSV's Yogi
First I met Yogi when I started volunteering at HSSV April 2011. He inspired me to move forward in my Dog Volunteering training classes. He is almost a four-year-old puppy, happy to see people that are willing to take him for long walks and play with him at the dog park or just keeping him company. He can see through my pockets, especially when they are hiding good treats or new toys.

HSSV's Lacy

HSSV's Lacy
Helping our dogs in the bubble it is first thought when I wake up every morning. Getting here to Humane Society Sillicon Valley it makes my engine run. My eyes spot Lacy beautiful black German Shepard. She is four-year-old, her amber eyes got my attention. Shy from one side and proud from the other. We are going for a walk. Lacy walks nicely by my side, her eyes are glued to mine. Chemistry is in the air. She wants to please my human being spirit, I want to please her dogs being spirit. She is fearful about people and cars, but the moment I will go in space to seperate Lacy from strangers and noisy cars she become more relax by sniffing ground and checking on crowing birds.
